Project title

Project Objective

The aim of the project is to develop a product innovation in the form of a safe injection needle, with the needle automatically protected throughout its use, reducing the risk of accidental puncture, with significantly minimized dead space to prevent drug or vaccine losses, and a process innovation: a fully automated demonstration line for manufacturing safety needles.

Project Results

The unique design of the safety needle will ensure full needle shielding: before, during and after use, minimal dead space to prevent formulation loss and protect medical personnel throughout the use (from unpacking to disposal). In order to achieve the planned functionalities of the final product it will also be necessary to develop and demonstrate in parallel in the target system (validation in real conditions) the process innovation in the form of a dedicated manufacturing technology of a universal and fully technology based on new, original technological solutions, tools and procedures that have not been used so far.
